    IT’S a make or break game for the University of Cebu (UC) teams in the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball Tournament at the Cebu Coliseum tonight.

    The Baby Webmasters, who are eyeing the other automatic semifinal seat, will play the struggling University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors at 5:15 p.m., while the Webmasters, who are seeking a slot in the final four, will play the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers at 6:45 p.m. <a href=”

    TOP seed Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras keep its immaculate record intact as they whipped the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 81-63, in the collegiate game of the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball Tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

    The imposing height and size advantage of the Cobras seemed to have intimidated the smaller Webmasters, who were quickly trumped by SWU. <a href=”

    FOR the first time this season, the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) saw its first-ever jampacked elimination round game last Thursday evening that featured powerhouse teams University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras at the Cebu Coliseum.

    MARK Jayven Tallo reminded the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers why he owns two straight MVP awards as he took charge in the final minutes of the game to lead the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras to a thrilling 65-57 win in the Cebu Classico match-up of the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum last night.

    The classic match-up lived up to its promise as both teams played their best with Tallo shining the brightest to lead the Cobras to a perfect win-loss record of 6-0 at the end of their first round campaign. UV dropped to 5-1. (READ MORE)

    THE University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors escaped a comeback from the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 69-67, in an overtime on Tuesday. August 30, at the New Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City.

    THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras remain undefeated after winning against the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters on Saturday, August 27, at the New Cebu Coliseum. Final score 72-61.

    The Cobras started hot going on a 14-0 run courtesy of four inside plays by Bernie Bregondo, and back to back three-pointers from Shaquille Imperial, closing the first quarter, score 22-8. (READ MORE)

    USC Warriors trounce CIT-U Wildcats

    THE University of San Carlos Warriors trounced the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, 71-36, on Tuesday, August 23, at the New Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City.

    Scoty Ntumba led the Warriors with a double-double performance scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Conrad Catapusan who chipped 12 points, and Lucky Ecarma added 10 points to give the Warriors a double-digit margin win. (READ MORE)

    THE Phinma-Southwestern University Cobras defeated the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers, 88-64, at the New Cebu Coliseum, on Thursday, August 18.

    Former two-time MVP Mark Tallo led the Cobras with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, followed by Bernie Bregondo who scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Jovanie Luz also chipped in 13 points. (READ MORE)

    THE University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars won against the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, 80-76, in Cesafi basketball season 16, at the New Cebu Coliseum, on Tuesday, August 16.

    Jaybie Mantilla led the Jaguars with 24, followed by Ralph Dinolan with 16 points, and Miguel Gastador with 13 points, to win the game against the Wildcats, improving their record to 2-1 (win-loss). (READ MORE)
