    Limpag: Warriors live up to name in epic Game 5

    WITH a 46-40 lead at the end of the third, the University of the Visayas Lancers seemed headed to an 11th title but Shooster Olago took matters into his own hands and brought the University of San Carlos Warrios back into the fight.

    After a Kiefer Lim floater made it 46-42, Olago scored 10 straight points—including a steal and a dunk–to put the Warriors up by 6, 52-46.     Limpag: Can underdog USC win it all?

    FOR the fifth straight year, the Cesafi basketball finals is going to a Game 5. The University of San Carlos Warriors, last year’s losing finalist, is also involved in a second straight Game 5, while the University of the Visayas Green Lancers will be in their third Game 5 in four years.

    UV lost to Southwestern Universtiy in 2012, 73-72, and got even a year later and won Game 5, 64-62. Last year, a jittery Warriors team lost Game 5, 64-49, to the SWU Cobras, which finished fourth this year. (READ MORE)

    I WENT to Game 1 of the Cesafi basketball finals between the University of the Visayas and the University of San Carlos expecting to have some difficulties going into the Cebu Coliseum.

    The last time USC met UV in the finals a few years ago, there was a sizeable crowd and getting into the media row at the Cebu Coliseum was difficult. It wasn’t the case last Sunday in Game 1 as the Coliseum wasn’t packed. (READ MORE)
