CEBU CITY — It was a come from behind win by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars to secure a spot in the semifinals after defeating the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats, 81-76, Thursday night in USJ-R’s home court.
The Jaguars pulled off, against all odds, an impressive run in the 4th Quarter with veteran player Miguel Tabaloc and Christian Parker and team captain James Regalado leading the squad to cut their 20-point deficit in the 4th period against CIT-U.

The Warriors unleashed their superb shooting and ran their plays in the opening quarter tallying 17 points against 4 from the Jaguars.
Cameroonian imports Ahmed Salihou and Barry Amin of USC proved to be too much to handle for the Jaguars in the defense department.
Caezar Ian Ortega and rookie Victor Rabat were also unstoppable from beyond the arc with Rabat nailing five treys throughout the game.

Last Saturday, Adlawan, Pepito and Santander were sent off from the game, which the Warriors won, 67-64, after they traded blows following a scuffle for the loose ball.

“I didn’t have any reservations. His absence (in early part of the game) was valid because he had a school-related activity. When USPF had a rally, I really needed a slasher and a tough defender. UNIVERSITY of San Carlos Baby Warriors head coach Britt Carlo Reroma has issued an apology to Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy and to the rest of the board.
In a letter dated Aug. 23 to Cesafi president Fr. Manny Uy SJ, of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, Reroma expressed his apology to the board and to Tiukinhoy for trying to field a player whose eligibility was under question.
Earlier, Tiukinhoy asked the board in his incident report and recommendation letter to suspend Reroma for one year for putting the league and its members in a bad light, a violation stated in Paragraph 3.5 of Section F of the Amended Rules and Regulations of Cesafi.
