THE Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Board justified the decision of Commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy Jr. to allow American Bendley Valdor to play for the Southwestern University Cobras as replacement for Cameroonian Justin Aboude in the 2014 Basketball tournament.

After hours of deliberation and review, the Cesafi board junked the protest of the University of San Carlos, and any team planning to contest the decision of Tiukinhoy allowing Valdor to see action despite coming in late and beyond the deadline set by the league. (READ MORE)

Not only did UV lose to the Southwestern University five straight times this season, the Lancers also lost two key players going to Game 3.

Surely they couldn’t beat those odds? (READ MORE)

I CALLED him up at 12:15 yesterday. I thought he’d be having lunch. Instead, my eardrums were greeted with a symphony of sounds: balls dribbling, rubber shoes squeaking against the wooden floor, the referees’ whistles reverberating.

Given the mediocre showing of the Lancers in Game 1 against the well-oiled Cobras, after tonight’s Game 2, the Cobras could be just a win away from the title. (READ MORE)
