    THE Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons kepts their quarterfinal hopes alive after pulling down the Don Bosco Technological Center (DBTC) Greywolves back with a thrilling 63-60 win in the high school competition of the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

    The day was inspired by the presence of the Rio Olympics silver medal winner Hidilyn Diaz, who encouraged the players to reach for their dreams and work hard for it. (READ MORE)

    DBTC Greywolves suffer 1st defeat

    THE Don Bosco Technical College Greywolves suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the defending champions, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles on Saturday, August 27, at the New Cebu Coliseum.

    The Magis Eagles went on a shooting display early in the game to give them a 27-9 lead to close out the first quarter, which they continued althroughout the game with a final score of 73-48. (READ MORE)

    THE Phinma-Southwestern University Baby Cobras escaped a comeback from the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildkittens, 70-58, at the New Cebu Coliseum on Sunday, August 21.

    THE University of Cebu (UC) Junior Webmasters suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancers, 67-61, at the New Cebu Coliseum, on Sunday, August 21.

    Both teams were tied 60-60 with two minutes left in the ball game, when Jancork Cabahug took advantage of the mismatch against the 4 foot 10 Webmasters point-guard Gelmart Umpad, converting the easy drive to give them the lead 62-60 with 1:42 left in the ball game. (READ MORE)

    Luigi Gabisan led the Junior Webmasters with 22 points, followed by Gelmart Umpad with 14 points, and Johnbryl Cuyos with 11 points to give their team with the win over league powerhouse SHS-ADC Magis Eagles, led by Jed Colonia with 12 points points, followed by Eroll Pastor and Andrew Velasco with 11 points.     THE University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars escaped a comeback scare from the fighting University of San Carlos Baby Warriors, 62-58, on Sunday, at the New Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City.
