    IT’S a make or break game for the University of Cebu (UC) teams in the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball Tournament at the Cebu Coliseum tonight.

    The Baby Webmasters, who are eyeing the other automatic semifinal seat, will play the struggling University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors at 5:15 p.m., while the Webmasters, who are seeking a slot in the final four, will play the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers at 6:45 p.m. <a href=”

    THE University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers gave the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors a neat beating with an 87-46 bashing in the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) high school basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

    THE Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons kepts their quarterfinal hopes alive after pulling down the Don Bosco Technological Center (DBTC) Greywolves back with a thrilling 63-60 win in the high school competition of the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

    The day was inspired by the presence of the Rio Olympics silver medal winner Hidilyn Diaz, who encouraged the players to reach for their dreams and work hard for it. (READ MORE)

    MARK Jayven Tallo reminded the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers why he owns two straight MVP awards as he took charge in the final minutes of the game to lead the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras to a thrilling 65-57 win in the Cebu Classico match-up of the 2016 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum last night.

    The classic match-up lived up to its promise as both teams played their best with Tallo shining the brightest to lead the Cobras to a perfect win-loss record of 6-0 at the end of their first round campaign. UV dropped to 5-1. (READ MORE)

    Warriors beat Webmasters in overtime

    THE University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors escaped a comeback from the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 69-67, in an overtime on Tuesday. August 30, at the New Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City.

    The Warriors had the lead through out the first three quarters, but things change at the last two minutes of the ball game. (READ MORE)

    THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras remain undefeated after winning against the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters on Saturday, August 27, at the New Cebu Coliseum. Final score 72-61.

    The Cobras started hot going on a 14-0 run courtesy of four inside plays by Bernie Bregondo, and back to back three-pointers from Shaquille Imperial, closing the first quarter, score 22-8. (READ MORE)

    AFTER four tries, the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors finally nabbed their first win of the Cesafi 2016 season.

    DBTC Greywolves suffer 1st defeat

    THE Don Bosco Technical College Greywolves suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the defending champions, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles on Saturday, August 27, at the New Cebu Coliseum.

    The Magis Eagles went on a shooting display early in the game to give them a 27-9 lead to close out the first quarter, which they continued althroughout the game with a final score of 73-48. (READ MORE)
