Warriors, Eagles make semis

ALJE Mendez once again saved the University of San Carlos as he scored 13 of his 19 points in the final period, including eight in the final 2:16 of the game to help the Baby Warriors secure the second automatic slot to the semifinals following a nail-biting 83-79 win over the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers in the last day of the high school elimination round of the 2015 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball tournament yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Both USC and the defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles advanced to the semifinal round, while the University of Cebu Baby Webmasters (5-3), University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars (5-3), UV (4-4) and the University of Southern Philippines Baby Panthers (4-4) finished third to fifth places, respectively.
